I think this is a "win" or a "loose". If it come out of the pan you brought the best dish. If it doesn't well "sorry I didn't bring anything this year".

Looks like a splendid idea, perhaps adaptable to other root vegetables, such as celeriac, but with different seasonings. I should think a greased parchment paper collar would address the potential for the sides sticking.
